Sumilon Island - A Sanctuary Paradise of Southern Cebu.

Sumilon Island Crystal Blue & White Sand Experience

Basically, the name Sumilon comes from the word “sumilong” which means to take refuge. It is said that the caves of the island were used as shelters for fishermen in times of storms. Sumilon Island is a 24-hectare floating island rich and covered by the collection of aquatic species such as, Marine Flora and Fauna. It is known as one of the most popular tourist attractions, not just in the region of Visayas, but also in the whole Philippines. The Island is popular due to its beautiful underwater views with thousands of aquatic animals and corals lustering below the ocean. If you are an enthusiast, you can definitely enjoy a day or even spend whole weekend vacation with your friends or family in the Island without getting bored.
